Fit on 6th is individually owned and operated by Tamer Young. She has been in the fitness industry for 19 years and has an extensive background in building fitness programs from the novice to the advanced fitness enthusiast.

 

Having been an athlete her whole life, she offers a variety of exercises that keep her clients motivated. If you are trying to lose weight, train for a marathon, tone up, build core strength or build up your overall fitness level, SHE CAN HELP!!

 

Many of her current clients have been with her for years. They love the new studio. It’s private. It’s personal. It’s professional. Its 1000 square feet, so you don’t have to worry about getting on the equipment.

Kirk Jaques -Cardio Kick Boxing

Kirk JaquesKirk Jaques has been involved in the martial arts for the past 40 years, first as a student and then as a teacher.With a background in a variety of martial arts styles, weapons and kickboxing, it was a natural transition to working in the film industry.

 

He has taught martial arts / fight scenes and been a personal trainer for a number of people in the film industry, including John Candy (Who is Harry Crumb?); Snoop Dog (Bones); Scarlett Johansson (The Perfect Score);  Freddie Prinze, Jr. (Head over Heels); Owen Wilson and Famke Jansen (I Spy); Tom Welling and Allison Mack (Smallville); Kevin Sorbo, Lisa Ryder, and Lexa Doig (Andromeda); Jayne Heitmeyer (Earth Final Conflict); Robert Pattinson (Twilight); Alan Tudyk (I, Robot); Jeremy Irons (Eragon); and Neil Jackson and Jill Wagner (Blade).

Currently he spends much of his time and energy in training actors and stunt performers, stunt coordinating, and teaching at Fit on Sixth, where he co-runs a kickboxing boot camp with owner and instructor Tamer Young.

Scott Harris

Scott HarrissI began working in the health and wellness industry 5 years ago after watching my mother battle cancer. It was this experience that drove me to become both a certified bodyworker as well as an ISSA Personal Trainer. With a passion for sports and working with motivated clients I discovered the MMACA and became certified in the strength and conditioning of MMA/Combat Athletes.

 

Through the MMACA I was exposed to some of the best MMA Conditioning Coaches in the world and their training philosophy. Warrior Within Training is quite simply the result of being exposed to so many talented and knowledgeable professionals. Although I have never stepped foot inside the octagon, MMA style conditioning has become the cornerstone of my own fitness regime. I believe this style of training is for anyone wanting to challenge themselves both physically and mentally.

 

I am a firm believer in avoiding the one size fits all approach that is plaguing the fitness industry. Although there is a time and place for high intensity "bootcamps" etc. there is no replacement for a totally personalized training program designed and developed for each individual. My training style is centered around the intricate workings of the body's 3 energy systems. With the simple use of a heart rate monitor, I am able to optimize and fine tune my client's training while avoiding over/under training. 

 

Whether you are an accomplished athlete looking to find that extra edge, an amateur fighter looking to take their game to the next level or just someone looking to train like an MMA athlete, my job is to help you find your Warrior Within.
